Let’s be brutally honest—my one-to-one online English language coaching isn’t for everyone. If you’re considering booking a course with me, here are some solid reasons why you might not want to.

1. You Want to Sit Back and Coast

One-to-one lessons mean there’s no hiding. You’ll be actively involved in every session. You’ll practise speaking, engage in activities, and think on your feet. If you prefer to quietly blend into the background or let others do the talking, this might feel like too much pressure.

2. You Love a Strict, Textbook-Only Approach

My lessons are dynamic and tailored to your needs. We’ll focus on what’s most relevant to your goals, and that might not always follow a rigid textbook structure. If you’re someone who loves ticking off exercises in order and doesn’t want to deviate, my flexible style might not suit you.

3. You’re Searching for Bargain Deals

Here’s the truth: my coaching is a premium service. It’s personalised, high-quality, and results-driven—but it’s not cheap. If budget is your top priority, group classes or language apps might be a better option for you. I believe in delivering value, but that comes at a cost.

4. You’re Hoping for Instant Results

Learning English is a journey, not an overnight transformation. It takes dedication, effort, and time. I’ll provide the tools, guidance, and support, but you’ll need to put in the work.

One-to-one English language coaching is faster than group classes, but you still have to put the work in.

5. You’re Not Ready to Commit

Progress requires consistency. If you’re unsure about committing time and energy to regular lessons, now might not be the best moment to start. I’d rather work with learners who are fully ready to dive in and make progress.

6. You’re Not Comfortable with Online Learning

My lessons are conducted entirely online. If you’re someone who struggles with technology or prefers in-person interaction, this might not be the best fit. Online learning offers incredible flexibility and convenience, but it’s not for everyone.

7. You’re Not Open to Honest Self-Reflection

To make progress, you need to be willing to look at your strengths and weaknesses honestly. I’ll encourage you to reflect on what’s working and what needs improvement. If this feels uncomfortable or unnecessary, my coaching style might not suit you.

8 You’re Not Tech-Savvy

My lessons rely on technology. You’ll need to be comfortable using tools like video conferencing software, shared documents, and screen sharing. If navigating these tools feels overwhelming or frustrating, online coaching might not be the right choice for you. That said, I’m always happy to help you get set up and troubleshoot along the way.

Final Thoughts

Still reading? Great! If none of these reasons scare you off, chances are we’ll make an excellent team. I’m not the coach for everyone, but for the right learners, my coaching can be life-changing.
